Taima Project Becomes Taima and Readies the Canadian Launch of Its First CD for February 24, 2004.

(Montreal, Wednesday, February 4, 2004) - Since their first appearance at Montreal’s Coup de Coeur Francophone festival in 2002, Alain Auger and Elisapie Isaac have travelled extensively and introduced their music to many new audiences in Canada, the USA and France. During that time the duo also wrote many songs and recorded their first album: TAIMA which will hit Canadian streets Tuesday, February 24, 2004 on the Fullspin Music record label (Yann Perreau); distributed by Fusion 3.

Effective immediately, Taima Project will now be known simply as TAIMA.

Entirely produced and recorded by Michel Pépin at Studio Frisson in Montreal, TAIMA the album includes eleven songs that touch and sooth the soul, heart and mind. Eleven universes glide between fire and ice, including the dreamy Remaining For You, the carnal Ilunnut, the sensuous Nalligigumavagit and the abrasive So You Say. The introspective lyrics deal with relationships, family, man and nature, White and Native, the North and the South.

All songs are performed by Elisapie Isaac in three different languages: Inuktitut, English and French. Ten of the eleven songs on the album have been written by Alain Auger (music) and Elisapie Isaac (lyrics). The talented French Canadian storyteller Fred Pellerin collaborates with the duo on “Silence”, providing both lyrics and music.

Hot on the heels of their recent appearance at the Festival Les Déferlantes Hivernales de Pralognan-La-Vanoise in France, TAIMA launches their Canadian concert tour this month.
